"Einbecker Urbock is the classic and original 'Bockbeer'. Brewers, mostly female, in the town of Einbeck in Lower Saxony, Germany, created it back in the 14th century. The original Einbecker Bock was strong, malty in the aroma, and yet hoppy in the finish as it was designed to be sent long distances from Northern Germany to Scandinavia, Netherlands, and Italy fermenting out on their way. True to its classic design Einbecker Ur-Bock Dunkel is tawny to dark brown, with a dry, very intense malt character and a long hoppy finish. Both its intense maltiness and hop bitterness show distinctly in the nose."
