We threw a little birthday party for our beer buddy, Scott, last night. And for those of you who followed on Twitter @bruisinales, many of you requested the recipe to his kick-ass birthday cake. I’m delivering!

Preheat oven 350º.

Cake:
(1) 9 x 12 rectangle cake pan, greased
(1) Duncan Hines German Chocolate Cake Mix
(3) Eggs
(1) Tbsp of vegetable oil
(1) Dash of pure vanilla
(2) Cups Young’s Double Chocolate Stout

Icing:
(1) Large tub of whipped cream cheese icing
(1) Dash of pure vanilla
(1) Dash of cinnamon
(1/3) Cup of Abita Pecan Harvest

Toppings:
(1) Cup of chocolate graham cracker pie crust, crumbled

Directions:

  1. Combine cake mix and pour into greased cake pan. Mix icing and refrigerate.
  2. Bake at 350º for approximately 30 minutes. Test with fork to check if done.Cool for 60 minutes on backing rack.
  3. Place on cake plate, spread icing evenly on all side.
  4. Top with chocolate graham cracker crumbles.
  5. Refrigerate when complete.

Becca did a double-decker for extra cakey, icing goodness. Decorate to your taste, i.e. with the name Scott, or better yet the person you made it for.
