Yup, we bought our cookies from Wild

Bruisin’ Ales loves Girl Scout Cookies. And we love Wild Freeborn even more. She’s Asheville’s newest celebrity, a.k.a. The Girl Who Gave The Scouts a-Schoolin’ in New Media. Even if you don’t live here, you must know who she is by now.

The skinny: Wild wanted to employ her dad’s mad online skills with her cookie selling campaign with the hope to send her entire troop to camp. Her father helped make a video for her goal. Apparently, you can’t sell Girl Scout cookies online. Some people complained. And it basically blew-up from there, sparking debate on teaching girls new media, online sales, and whether or not the door-to-door selling technique is truly any safer than what Wild was doing.

The story broke in Newsweek. She was recently on “The Today Show” in NYC with her father, Bryan Freeborn of Top Floor Studio, to discuss the conflict with the Girl Scouts of America. And Fox News. And CNN. Today, she was featured in the New York Times. On A17, no less!

For the record, we think Matt Lauer should send the troop to camp instead of buying cookies, and Wild, herself, should get a buttload of these things. Go, Wild, go!
