The Phantom
It’s Halloween, and a ghost a fitting, so let’s share the label of Fantome’s BriseBonBons with you, a slightly bitter and sour Saison. Saison with a twang. Fantome is hard to get and we’re still waiting on our first batch from this brewery, which is the equivalent of about a year. Asheville Beer Blog wrote about the ghost the other week, so we’re not going to double-up on the info, since he does a great job covering the brewer and brewery. BriseBonBons is/was utterly delicious and we have to thank our brewsician’s brother, Phillip, for procuring some while traveling to Florida. (Thank you to James and Michelle, too, who brought us a Fantome Noel after the Durham festival. That one is laying down for Christmas Day.) We just think the label is hilarious. Who knows if Dany Prignon knows about Arrogant Bastard, but nevertheless, it shows a good sense of humor. We like that.
Edgy Mama is a Beer Goddess
Local writer and blogger, Edgy Mama, is getting into the beer gig. She’s going to start a weekly video called Beer of the Week. We wonder, though, is that the only beer she has each week? We sure hope not, for Mama’s sake. Her first episode is about Asheville Pizza & Brewing’s Roland ESB.Â
Highland brews a beer for the Biltmore
Highland is co-hosting a beer dinner at the Biltmore House next week and they’ve brewed a signature ale just for the estate called Cedric’s Pale Ale. You’ll note Cold Mountain is on the menu, which means bottles should not be far behind! And, no, we don’t have any information yet. We promise to post as soon as we hear.
