The Big River Grille & Brewing Works in Chattanooga, Tenn. is hosting Beer Underwater at the Tennessee Aquarium on Friday, Sept. 21 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. where they’ll be tapping their new Oktoberfest. This seems like a very cool event. Chattanooga is truly an up-and-coming Southern city with a growing arts scene, outdoor adventures galore, and active community involvement. Only problem is it’s the night before the Brewgrass Festival.

From the Chattanoogan.com:

A beer tasting by Big River Grille and Brewing Works featuring their newly-tapped Oktoberfest beer will be offered at Beer Underwater at the Aquarium on Friday, Sept. 21, from 7-10 p.m.David Sharpe, Big River’s brew-master will provide a sneak peak at their special brewing process and will describe how freshwater and other essential ingredients impact the flavor profiles of beers produced by Big River. Then explore Aquarium treasures “under water,” while sampling a variety of hand-crafted beers along the way.Light ales, smooth lagers and heavier stouts, accompanied by an assortment of heavy hors d’oeuvres will be offered. There will be specialty beers hand-selected by the brew-master for this occasion, such as a rich malty Blonde Bock and Whit beer with hints of orange and coriander.
