Sponsored by the cool people at Creative Loafing, Charlotte is celebrating “2007 Beer Week” April 12-19. Wow. When Charlotte is diving head-first into the beer ring, this is huge. We know. We lived there awhile back. And for the record, they did not have slick events like Beer Week! Â
If we could go to Beer Week, we’d be most excited about the Inaugural Brewer’s Cruise held on a boat on Lake Norman. Three of our local breweries will be there, including Highland, Foothills and Terrapin. Overall, it’s a pretty sweet line-up. We think Brawley’s Hop Rod Blind Tasting will kick butt upstairs at the Moosehead. Also, Chef Tim Schaeffer’s dinner looks like a fun. Chef Tim is known as the Brew Chef and considered the nation’s foremost authority on cooking with beer, which is another of our great loves. Don’t just “pair” your beer, people—cook with it!
Even better, Beer Week should get you good and primed for the big World Beer Festival in Raleigh, April 28. If you don’t feel like driving to Raleigh on your own, you can go with our friends from the Asheville Brews Cruise.
So, there you have it! Two fun out-of-town beer things coming in April.
Tylenol not included.
